DOCRILUC PARTICIPATES IN THE ECO2MARKET PROJECT

The objective of the ECO2MARKET project is the development and implementation of refrigeration systems for supermarkets and small businesses that succeed in eradicating the use of fluorinated gases HFCs, which in addition to negatively influencing the greenhouse effect, have an immediate effect on the owner of the equipment in case of leaks, as the tax rates applied according to the Spanish level make them inappropriate and convenient to replace. This is a project initiated by AFAR (Andalusian Association of Refrigeration Manufacturers) in which several companies in the sector jointly develop a complete solution that is the most efficient and ecological for refrigeration installations applied to supermarkets.

Important changes are taking place in the sector of commercial and industrial refrigeration in Europe, and even more in the Spanish territory. This is due to various regulations that have been applied at the state and European level. By way of background, it must be known that fluorinated gases are the gases with the greatest potential for greenhouse effect covered by the Kyoto Protocol, which represent 6 million tonnes of CO2 equivalent emitted into the atmosphere in Spain. This is why state law 16/2013, effective from January 2014, establishes a tax rate on HFCs recharge, applying a higher rate on those refrigerants that have a higher GWP, which normally are the most used.

On the other hand there is also the European F-GAS regulation, which purpose is to reduce emissions of fluorinated gases by 2/3 of the current levels by 2030 and encourage the use of more environmentally friendly alternatives.

Based on the EFIMARKET project (supermarket solutions using glycolic water), the project's overall objective is to develop supermarket refrigeration systems that eliminate the risk of leakage of fluorinated greenhouse gases using CO2 technology. The particular goal of Docriluc is to develop all the methodology and the construction of remote terminal equipment connected to a remote refrigeration unit of CO2 in subcritical phase applicable to showcases and display cabinets. It will seek to build remote terminal equipment connected to a remote refrigeration plant Of CO2 in the subcritical phase, where the HFC load is confined to a low-load hermetic circuit, applicable to low and medium temperature equipment.

The ECO2MARKET project received financial support from CDTI within the framework of the Call for Regional Cooperation in R & D (Feder-Innterconecta) 2015, supported by the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness of the Spanish Government, and co-financed by the Structural Funds of the European Union.

Once again, Docriluc bases its commitment on the innovation of ecological, efficient and comfortable products, opting for an innovative policy that translates into a constant search for new technologies and materials to achieve this end.
